Here are my ideas for the RBL book
General:
- Multi-language
- It is good to dream and even better to realise dreams.
- Because the RBL is adaptable and short it encourages achievement.
- The RBL should be clearly defined. What, when, how and why. example: Build A Wooden Canoe: Within 6 months, in Canada, from a pine tree, in order to canoe a river.
- Global examples of peoples 5 items, with a brief description of the person. example: Dale, Sydney Australia, 56 years old, self-employed.
Why have a RBL?
- Evolving life
- Connection to reality
- Self discovery
- Self fulfilment
- Encourages us to act
- Consider alternative lifestyles
- Free our minds
- Educational
RBL Ideas:
- Travel
- Work
- Behaviour
- Relationships – friends, family
- Food
- Pleasure
- Emotions
RBL philosophy:
- Why do this
- What will be the impact on me and others
- what sacrifice may be made
- What fears or concerns may be encountered
- How may I need to adapt to reach the goal
example: To Eat At Londons Best Restaurant: What is the likely cost? How will I find the money? What may I need to forfeit to achieve this item? Will I go alone?
Who is the RBL for?
- Us
- Others
- Jointly
When to do things on RBL?
- Timing
- Seasonal
example: Visit Antartica: What is the likely cost? What time of year can I visit? How long will the whole trip take?
Impact of RBL:
- Shared experiences – with partner, family or friend
- Environmental – save the world
- Involving and benefiting others
- Time limited items (within x months/years)
What will be the consequence of achieving the RBL?
- Personal
- Proud
- Share results with others
- Others benefit
- Charity
- Sacrifice
- Record/document/photograph achievements – perhaps share with others
